Terms of Sale

All sales on The Paddock are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Physical prints are made to order and fulfilled by Prodigi, an independent print-on-demand partner — exact colors and materials may vary slightly from what you see on screen. Where a work’s surviving scan will not carry a large sheet, we say so on its page and sell the archival file instead of a print we would have to apologise for.

Digital downloads are non-refundable once delivered. Physical prints are made-to-order and, in keeping with standard print-on-demand policy, are only replaced or refunded for a misprint or shipping damage reported within 30 days — not for a change of mind, since each print is produced specifically for your order. Write to paintedalways@gmail.com; the full policy is at /legal/refunds.

Every work reproduced here was published before 1931 and is verified public domain under its holding institution’s own record, cited on the piece. Works depicting a rider, trainer, or owner carry a second verdict as well: the historic British turf publishes in our clear lane, while racing figures of the licensing era publish only against a logged sign-off. Horses hold no right of publicity, so the pre-1931 record of the great champions publishes as history. See the eras and their lanes at /craft, and the doctrine in full at /about.

No modern race, track, breed-registry, or governing-body mark appears in this house’s branding, product names, page titles, or keywords; a build-time check enforces it. Nothing sold here is affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from any racing organisation. Where a genuine period artefact carries a historical venue or stable name in its own frame or documented title, we reproduce it as the historical document it is — that naming is the artefact’s, not ours. Text you supply for a commission is your own, and you confirm you have the right to use it; we do not suggest, pre-populate, or advertise such names.
