Remington and Russell
The Open Range
The West, painted by the men who rode it.
Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell painted the American West from the saddle: a snow slope under a green night sky, cowboys riding in at a saloon door, a family moving camp with horses and travois. Every canvas here was painted before 1931 and hangs in a public museum.
